Pennies for our Pool...As you are aware the government is doing away with the Canadian penny.

We are now accepting pennies at the Grenfell Town Office to Save Our Pool!

We will then deposit them to the Save Our Pool fund.

SAVE OUR POOL

Some good news...we have been approved to receive $50,000 from Community Initiatives Fund (CIF) to go towards our pool.  CIF is a special purpose fund created through The Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation Act & is governed by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture & Sport.  The CIF is funded through a portion of the Regina & Moose Jaw casino profits.

What we need to do now...in order to receive the $50,00 from the CIF we have to have matching funds available & we need to have the project done within 2 years.  So far, $17,700 has been raised to SAVE OUR POOL, therefore we need to come up with $35,000 before the CIF will give us $50,000.

Wow...what an awesome turnout to the Sink Or Swim Charity Auction last Friday!  We estimate over 250 people were in attendance.

Thank you to everyone who donated items, bid &/or purchased items, purchased 50/50 {winner June Woulfe (nee Willcox)}, raffle tickets {brought in $2,589} & barrel tickets {brought in $1,125 (winner Kim Steininger)}!  Silent Auction items brought in $8,505.

The support we received was overwhelming to say the least.  Also special thanks to everyone who donated food & helped out in any way, we couldn’t have done this without you. 

For anyone who couldn’t attend Friday, or wasn’t able to purchase anything during the auction but would like to donate to the pool, we are always accepting monetary donations through the Town Office.  Cheques can be made to the Town of Grenfell & receipts will be issued.  The money is then transferred over to the GRP for the Save Our Pool Fund.

The entire Sink or Swim event raised over $89,000! This exceeded our expectations by 300%! Way to go everyone!

With all the cash donations to date, the government grant of $50,000 & the money raised from Sink Or Swim; the pool fund is now approximately $160,000!  We need about $300,000...we are well on our way!
